About Hydro-Tech Hydroponics
Located at 2121 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109, Hydro-Tech Hydroponics operates as a garden center serving Seattle in Washington. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

Seattle is in Washington, in the Pacific Northwest, where winters are mild and wet, summers are dry and pleasant, and outdoor recreation drives a lot of local business; hours change little through the year. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Seattle follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The place is bizarre for sure. The owner and his sidekick are a hoot. Don't be a judgemental tightwad and you'll probably have a good time! The guys are incredibly smart and experienced. They have been in the business longer than many of these other reviewers have been alive. Despite their long tenure, they have kept up with technology and understand the actual engineering behind the complex electronics they are selling. They don't just import junk and mark it up. They custom build their own LED lights with large wattage margins and then sell them for less than you can find quality lights online. As a hardware guy, I know the difference between good and bad equipment. You can buy cheap and chintzy lighting from eBay or aliexpress all day long, but it'll end up costing you more in the long run as your bulbs/ballasts/transformers burn out long before you expected it to. These guys have low prices similar to the cheap-o gear, but that's thanks to their low overhead. Hydro Tech is not pleasing to the eye, but what some people see as a shabby shack, others quickly recognize as extremely low overhead and a savvy (albeit rather messy) operator. I got a great deal on my last load of sup

I had passed by this place a couple times driving by and finally decided to check it out. I can appreciate weird oddities and unique home/businesses and this place is certainly odd. After finding parking in an awkward lot filled with dilapidated vehicles, I realized I was being stared down by a creepy looking guy reminiscent of "The Hills Have Eyes". He looked afraid and very confused when I greeted him with a subtle hello as I walked inside. The whole place does not seem much larger than your average gas station restroom. The owner/tenant came through a blanket/door from another room to greet me. I was worried that I might have woken him. He was nice and all but his information seemed to be biased. He was quick to let me know that all of the other shops around town only want your money and their products aren't what your plants want. He than tried to sell me a haphazard homemade reflector for $200, and a light that you can find at Home Depot for three times less than he was charging. I didn't have the time or the heart to argue all of the misinformation he was rattling off to me about proper lighting and High Times conspirators. The pungency of all of the fertilizers was startin
